Recently Terry and I visited Dore for aesthetic procedure. I wanted to get botox injected to my masseters for jaw reduction so that I wouldn’t have to photoshop my jawline. As for Terry, he’s looking to get fillers injected to his chin to enhance his feature a little, making it look more defined and sharper.
Dore Medical Clinic and Dore Aesthetics have 3 units on the same level for different purpose. I love how spacious, well-lighted and clean. It also gives off a nice ambiance that is cosy and non-intimidating.
We were ushered to the consultation room to know more about the procedure that we are doing and if we were a suitable candidate for the procedure. Take myself as an example, I find that my skin tends to be saggy these days and I wanted to get botox done on a few areas but after speaking to the consultant, I found out that I don’t need to get any injection done on the other areas except for masseters (jawline). We seriously need more honest, non-pushy and professional consultants like that, rather than someone who recommends us to do more than what we need.
After the consultation, it’s time for Terry’s fillers first.
Take note that fillers are not permanent and it’s only a temporary solution to enhance your feature. This is perfect for people who are afraid of going under the knives and do not wish to go through any crazy downtime or to get anything permanent done on the face. If you’re happy and satisfied with how you look but you’ll like to enhance your features a little, fillers would be a great choice for you.
How long does chin fillers last?
The doctor picked Restylane for Terry and this usually lasts for a good 6-12 months period. Also, I’ve done a little research from my friends who got chin fillers done before. Apparently, chin is one of the longer lasting areas which last for 6-8 months. Numbing cream was applied on Terry’s chin and the filler injection was literally painless with no scars except for just a tiny injection hole, which can be easily covered with concealer. In case you’re wondering why the changes are so subtle, that’s because Terry only got 1 syringe done. If you’re getting it done, try not to touch, rub or lean your chin on your hands or palm as this will speed up the process of the filler dissolve into your body. Meaning you’ll be wasting your cash…
Botox for masseters is for people that have very square looking jaw or when you chew too much.
I’m guilty for chewing stuffs such as almonds, pistachios and cashews. If you know me well, you would know how much I love nuts. You can check if your jawline/masseters muscle is big just by clenching your teeth and touching it. The process was almost painless. Probably thanks to the numbing cream, that was applied before the procedure. The effect was pretty fast, I can feel that the muscle got way smaller in less than a week’s time.
